OUR SCHOOL IS A RESOURCESMART SCHOOL
Moomba Park Primary School is taking action to become more environmentally sustainable through a Victorian Government initiative called ResourceSmart Schools.
ResourceSmart Schools is an award-winning Victorian Government program that assists our school to embed sustainability in everything we do. Our school is supported through consultancy and professional development from CERES, to minimise waste, save energy and water, promote biodiversity and take action on climate change to benefit our school and community.
We also want to involve students, families and other members of our school and local community.
We are working with Randy Mendez from CERES Community Environment Park on the actions of the Core Module.
This year, we are aiming to continue to build on our sustainability achievements and monitor our resource use by using a free website called ResourceSmart Online. We aim to improve our gardens, improve our energy/waste/water systems, get our community involved and support our students by including sustainability in our curriculum.
We can’t wait to share our achievements with you, to see our gardens grow, reduce our school’s impact, help make the Earth a better place and contribute to a sustainable future for all.
